Early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.

If you have ever considered becoming an early riser, I challenge you to make this the moment! Rising early gives your day a number of advantages, allowing you to ultimately feel happier about life. I have fought with myself for years to become an early riser because I have known of the vast benefits it would provide.

1. Productivity

After establishing a habit of waking up early everyday, you will find this to be the time when you are the most alert. The brain is charged and hasn’t lost any of it’s battery yet. This allows you to work hard and quick without feeling drained.

Getting up early allows you to get a head start on your day. This will increase your confidence and allow you to continue the trend until the day has passed. It is also easier to get more things done because there are little distractions in the mornings, which gives you uninterrupted quite time. The phone isn’t ringing, the dogs isn’t barking, and the kids are in bed.

2. Mental Clarity and Peace of Mind

The way you spend your first hour awake sets the tone for the rest of the day. The way you spend your day sets the tone for the way you spend your life.

Would you like your life’s foundation to be built on procrastination, hurry, and frenzy? Rising early gives you ample time to be what you need and what you want. This way you start the day on your terms. If you want to establish simplicity, use this time to organize. If peace is the mantra of your life, then meditate in the morning. Perhaps you are goal driven, then use the mornings to set goals and to reflect.

Use the morning to spend time with yourself and take care of your mind. A healthy mind results in a more authentic you and a positive life experience.

Like with your mind, rising early also helps you maintain a healthy body. For starters, establishing a routine rise time helps set your internal body clock which results in a much higher quality of sleep. Did you know that 8 hours of sleep isn’t enough to fully recharge a person with a periodic sleep schedule?

When you rise early, it creates the perfect time gap for exercising! Early morning exercise is one of the best things you can do for yourself. It allows you to get the work-out over so that it isn’t hanging over your head. Instead, you spend your day feeling proud of yourself for your accomplishment. It also kick starts your heart rate, metabolism, and blood flow leaving you feeling energized for the rest of the day.

4. Time

Look I get it, sleeping in every once in awhile feels great. Unfortunately, the sad truth is that time is life. Time is the most precious thing we are given and when we fail to rise early we are simply throwing it away.

You can create your morning ritual to be whatever you want. Doing anything is better than nothing at all. If you design your mornings to be personable and fun, they could compose some of the greatest moments of your life.
